Riley Sanford

I grew up in the USA, being born in Washington State, and raised in Grand Rapids MI. At the age of 18 I traveled for the first time to Australia and Papua New Guinea and fell in love! My first experience in Papua New Guinea I trekked from Morobe Province (Menyamya) to the capital of Gulf Province (Kerema), this is a VERY intense trek and it grew my appreciation for the nation and people of Papua New Guinea.

After this trek I began leading teams to different areas of the country affiliated with a medical ship; our goal was to acquire the needs and stats of remote villages and to rely that info to medical teams and the Papuan Government. Now I have trained and led 5 teams through the nation of PNG and made personal trips to secure tourism opportunity through locals I have been working with for years.

Throughout my travels I saw immense beauty but also a lot of hurt, it is my hope to give you a glimpse of this exotic place and to help grow tourism for the nation.

Vickie Butuna

Hi, my name is Victoria Butuna, I am from Suau, Bonarua Island, Savaia and Sibalai village in Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea. I come from a diverse country with 800+ languages. In Milne Bay Province alone there are about 50+ different languages. I speak 3 languages personally, My mother tongue (Suau language), Pidgin and English, although I can understand a few other native tongues. I have spent the last 5 years aiding a Australian based medical ship delivering services to the remote areas of Papua New Guinea. During my time working with them I; helped lead Venue Management, manage a Kitchen, trained in Hospitality, trained and preformed with Pacific Island Dance group Island Breeze and lead land based and ship based teams from Australia to PNG. I also completed a Primary Health Care course and did medical work with ships around the southern region of PNG. I got a chance to teach my PNG culture and lifestyle values to others in Australia. My friends love learning about PNG and eventually got a chance to visit PNG.

At the moment I work for Egwalau Tours and Events a tourism company that hosting tourists that arrive on P&O cruise ships from Australia and other international locations to Milne Bay Province. We host about 1000+ tourists every month taking tourists around our small town organizing tours for them where they get to experience our culture, history, and lifestyle. I love my job, my small developing home town (Alotau) and I love seeing people from other nations get to experience something totally different from their nation and be so excited and impressed about it. A memory they get to carry back home. Try Something Different from your normal lifestyle!! and don't forget to visit Milne Bay Province. Eauwedo!
